Heidelberg Materials Antoing, ideally fitted for carbon capture

The Antoing plant is highly suitable to implement a CCS project. Built in 1986, the clinker plant kiln was completely modernized in 2021. It can integrate the carbon capture unit without any other major modifications to the installation. Using the existing set-up as much as possible, the project will have the lowest footprint solution.

The Antoing kiln is one of the most efficient in the world in terms of energy consumption and alternative substitution fuels rate. Its reliability coefficient rate is also higher than in other clinker plant.

Moreover, the plant is ideally located because its supply of raw materials is guaranteed by the Antoing quarry, which has reserves for around seventy years.
